At Carbonear Dental, our dentists and hygienists can help you maintain your oral health through regular dental exams and hygiene appointments.

Dental Cleanings

The dental hygienists at Carbonear Dental are dedicated to your oral health. We recommend that you visit your hygienist at least once every six months.

Daily flossing and regular brushing are very important to maintain the health of your teeth and gums.

During your appointment you can expect:
  • Removal of calculus/tartar
  • Removal of plaque
  • Teeth polishing
  • Fluoride treatment

Dental X-Rays

Digital x-rays are used to help detect oral risks before they cause further damage to your teeth and gums. They can be viewed instantly and are stored as digital images on the computer.

They are essential to preventing oral diseases from manifesting into more serious problems

Understanding Gum Disease

Gum disease is one of the most common diseases for Canadians. It is also known as periodontal disease. Despite your best efforts with brushing and flossing, you may still experience gum disease.

Depending on your level of gum disease, you may require gum therapy treatment.

Symptoms of Gum Disease

It is not always possible to know if you have gum disease as the symptoms do not always present themselves in the beginning stages. However, sometimes gum disease can show itself through:

  • Sore gums
  • Receding gums
  • Bleeding gums
  • Red or purple gums
  • Bad breath
  • Swollen gums

Prevention First
